Book O’Clock

A collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of London and hosted by Gloria Danili, Book O’Clock is our monthly children’s book club for readers aged 4-11. Each session invites young learners to discover a new Italian children’s book through engaging storytelling, creative workshops, and interactive activities—all designed to spark imagination, foster language skills, and nurture a love for literature.
This May your children will have the chance to discover the book “Il Gattolaio" published by Terre di Mezzo, written by Stella Nosella and illustrated by Evelise Obinu and be involved in a creative and interactive workshop. Participation is free but places are limited, do not miss the chance to attend this event, for children aged 4-11.
Our brave Book O’Clockers (and their families), led by Gloria, will meet the famous “Gattolaio", a magical character who can craft the perfect cat for every customer! They’ll step into a whimsical and enchanting world, filled with “shop windows smudged with fingerprints and hope” and “the scent of kibble and baby powder”!
After reading the picture book published by Terre di Mezzo and listening to the very special messages from the author Stella and the illustrator Evelise, the children will be welcomed into a workshop inspired by this magical story. Guided by the Gattolaio’s instructions, we’ll build oour very own favourite cat together.

Stella Nosella è una scrittrice veneta, testimonial di lettura per la sua regione per i Piccoli Lettori. Scrive albi illustrati, narrativa, per il cinema, il teatro e la televisione; è stata responsabile editoriale dell’area ragazzi della casa editrice L’Orto della Cultura. Collabora attivamente con il portale Kidpass.it ed è Caporedattore della rivista trimestrale Kid Pass Magazine. È sceneggiatrice per Fondazione Aida ETS.
È direttrice artistica di diversi Festival letterari, tra cui PortoImmaginario, Libri d’acqua e Avventure tra le pagine.
Ha collaborato come Project Manager e Agente per l’estero per C.atWork Creative. Dal suo romanzo “La bambina dal nastro rosso“ nascerà un docufilm con regia di Roberto Siepi e Alessia Vegro.
È testimonial di #ilvenetolegge, testimonial di #ioleggoperchè, ed è stata selezionata per #primaeffe Feltrinelli per la scuola.
Partecipa alle attività di promozione della lettura nei Musei e luoghi di cultura italiani con MIBACT; ha ideato la collana “In Corso d’Opera” (per L’Orto della Cultura) che sostiene la conservazione dei beni culturali attraverso donazioni annuali su Art Bonus. È stata scelta dall’Istituto Italiano di Cultura per rappresentare l’Italia alla FIL Lima 2020 con il progetto di illustrazione #congliocchideibambini.

Evelise Obinu è nata a Cagliari. Illustratrice e atelierista esperta in processi laboratoriali e formazione rivolti a tutte le età con particolare attenzione alla fascia 0-3 anni. Lavora come bibliotecaria. Si occupa di processi creativi e artistici all’interno di progetti multidisciplinari rivolti alla salute mentale. Negli anni ha sviluppato un approccio ad orientamento sistemico che integra l’arte, l’illustrazione e la promozione della lettura.
Nel 2022 pubblica Il Gattolaio, con testo di Stella Nosella, per Terre di Mezzo editore. Nel 2024 esce La scomparsa di Maresciallo. Le indagini di Italo, con testo di Beniamino Sidoti, L’Albero delle matite edizioni. Nel settembre 2024 esce Il Maestrario, testi di Roberto Morgese e Roberto Piumini per Storybox, di cui disegna le ironiche illustrazioni.
