Supporting the Italian Community

In light of the difficult times we had to address due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in 2020 our Board of Trustees took action and decided to promote initiatives in support of families wanting to offer their children a bilingual education.

SIAL.school: fees frozen for the second year in a row

There will be no increase in SIAL.school’s fees for the academic year 2021-2022. In light of the difficult times we are all having to address due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our Board of Trustees has decided to freeze our fees for two years in a row.

The school aims to keep its fees at the minimum level required to cover the running costs of the school and bursaries are available to ensure that children who would benefit from attending our bilingual school are not prevented from doing so because of the costs.

Please get in touch with SIAL.school’s Admissions Office for further information.

SIAL.school: special discounts for the school year 2020-2021

There will be no increase in SIAL.school’s fees for the coming academic year 2020-2021 and special discounts will be granted to new families joining the school.

Our Board of Trustees has decided to offer:

  • a 30% discount on Nursery fees, for the first year, to new families joining the school
  • a 15% discount on Reception and Primary years fees, for the first year, to new families joining the school

Please get in touch with SIAL.school’s Admissions Office to register your interest.

SIAL.courses: Extracurricular Courses 2020-2021

All our extracurricular courses will start online in September 2020.

The current situation due to COVID-19 makes any long-term planning quite difficult.
Most of the venues will not be available for hire until January 2021, while some of the others prefer to wait and see what happens in the Autumn before accepting any future bookings.

Despite this, our courses will start without delay in September 2020. All our lessons will be delivered online for the time being.
We will consider returning to face-to-face lessons once the venues become available, if this appears to be a safe option for your children and our staff.

We will issue a 10% refund for each lesson delivered online at the end of each term.

To support our students’ families the charity has also decided that:

  • There will be no increase in our annual fees
  • Sibling discount will increase from 10% to 15%
  • An additional 10% discount will be granted to all families whose children have attended one of our courses in the past

Please get in touch with SIAL.courses team to enrol your children.

SIAL.courses: our lockdown success story

When school closures were announced by the Government back in March 2020, our team at SIAL.courses had worked around the clock to see how we could best support and nurture our community of students, enabling them to continue their journey into the Italian language and culture.

We worked hard to make sure that the transition to online lessons would go smoothly and learning could be as effective as it has always been.

Immediately after the Easter Holidays we started to deliver all our extracurricular courses online, enabling more than 800 students to enjoy live interaction with their teachers and friends every week.

It was wonderful to be able to provide a source of comfort and normality during this unsettling period.

Our success story was featured, among others, in the official newsletter sent out by The Education Department of the Consulate General of Italy in London last July.

You can find the whole newsletter here: The Italian Language in times of Covid-19
You will need to scroll down to the bottom of the page to read our story: #lockdown success story by Eleonora Giovannardi.

We are extremely proud to see our proactiveness and resilience recognised by the Italian institutions with whom we collaborate and we are more committed than ever to help your children continue their journey into the Italian language and culture.
